I write and teach about eighteenth- and nineteenth-century British and Anglophone literature, the environmental humanities, global studies, and the history and theory of the novel.

I am a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Society of Fellows in the Humanities at Columbia University, where I am also a Lecturer in the Department of English and Comparative Literature. Before coming to Columbia, I was an Andrew W. Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow at the Rice University Humanities Research Center, where I was a core participant in the yearlong seminar "Waste: Histories and Futures." I completed my PhD in the Department of English Language and Literature at the University of Chicago.
